The death occurred in Auckland (N.Z.) on December 20, of Mr. William James Rowe, father of Thomas N. Rowe, Officer-in-Charge, Loco. Department, Albury.
The Late Mr Rowe, who was aged 80 years, went to N.Z. About 25 years ago, and lived with his eldest son, William Thomas, at Remuera. He was born at Camborne, Cornwall, England, and came to Sydney as a young man.
He joined the railway service in Sydney, and was sent to Junee as gasworks manager, a position which he held for 30 years.
He is survived by his sons, William (Remuera), Thomas (Albury), Charles Joseph (Les) and Harry, of Sydney. His wife predeceased him by 10 years. |
