Joan (My mother) was being reared by her grandmother Anna Daly, because her Mother Nora Riordan had left Ireland to go to America.
She told me she considered her grandmother's second husband ( Irwin) her own grandfather because she was raised by him and Anna Daly ( her grandmother). - Noreen Felton 16 Nov 2004

Nora Bridget Riordan Blackburn Mansfield Woroneski was baptized at St Colman's Cathedral in Cobh. her date of birth is Feb.9, 1900. she was baptized on Feb 18,1900. her parents were John Timothy Riordan and Hannah Daly. her sponsors were Timothy Daly and Margaret Flynn.. she received her first Communion in 1910 ( the documents stated that no records of First Communion were kept in the church ) She received Confirmation in June 29, 1913. her confirmation names were: Mary Veronica.

Nora Riordan (Blackburn), had some relatives, Riordan's in Massachusetts and Quinlan's in New York.
I am not sure where she originally landed, but I do know she spent most of her adult life in New York.
My grandmother Nora Riordan, sent for my mother, Joan, when she finished her secondary education. She must have been around 17 when she arrived. - Noreen Felton 16 Nov 2004

This was written by Alan Trevarthen

"The Wesleyan Chapel, Wall, Redruth.
Redruth is just the name of the Registration District. The Village of Wall is about 11 kilometres SW ot Redruth.
Wall is the biggest community in Gwinear Parish. It is the cnetral section of an ex-mining community in
Gwinear Parish. It is the central section of an ex-mining community comprising Carnhell Green, Rosewarne,
Wall and Reawla, four villages stretching for two and a half kilometres along a road running alongside
the main load of the Rosewarne and Herland tin and copper mine which was the main reason for the Community.

I think the village of Wall got its name because of a long wall that once existed there and dated from
prehistoric times"

Dear Mr Mulcahy,
On my
last visit to Blackpool I
was informed of the passing
of your dear wife. May I
offer you and yours my
sincerest sympathy.
It is difficult for outsiders
to fully understand the
feelings of the bereaved
ones on occasions like
this but we can and
will pray God to comfort
and sustain you in
your loss.
Yours Sincerely
