    Notes
    • He was associated with the IRA and I have seen photo's of it so he was, at the time they were not allowed to come to England, whereas my father was as he was an apprentice under the British rule in Cork dockyard and because he had served 2 or 3 in Cork of his apprenticeship he had to come to Portsmouth to finish it. Which is how he met my mother. Whereas Kitty and her husband Tim O'Halloran went to New York. I couldn't even begin to tell you when they went there but I would think it was during the troubles at the time. Later they came to Portsmouth from America to visit in the 1930's and I remember them coming, they could by then as they were established, with their youngest daughter.Auntie Kitty and Tim went to Agnes' son Kevin's wedding in Plainfield NJ Oct 1971, from Long Island as that is where they were living.
They married in Cork I believe and they went to the Bronx when they went to the US
Timothy was best man at his brother in law John Falvey and Margaret Forde's wedding in Jan 1926

      "There was a Tim O'Halloran on Corkoran's Quay, a charwoman's son. Aged 12 in 1911.
In the IRA as of 1921 anyway. He's the only O'Halloran in my records, for what it's worth. No rank, so probably just a Volunteer."

Eily Mulcahy thinks these Burns (Joe and Mary Hornibrook and family) lived in Blackpool, as she remembers them coming up to the Hornibrooks in Peacock Lane on Sunday. The eldest Boy had ginger hair. Joe Burns was De Valera's Driver during the Civil war. Tim O'Halloran who Married Kitty Falvey was also in the IRA and came from Corkeran's Quay which is off Thomas Davis St in Blackpool. At Tim & Kitty's wedding an Ellen Burns was the Bridesmaid. So this may link the two families. The only other Burns that Eily had heard of were from the country and they married into the Twomey's (Thomas Twomey & Peggy Burns) - Matt Falvey 29 Jun 2006
