Whitechurch is a civil parish, recognised by the state as a unit of territory. It is part of the Catholic parish of Blarney. It is most likely the marriage and the first two baptisms took place in Whitechurch church, while that of Denis took place in Blarney (Waterloo) - there was no Catholic church in Blarney village until 1894.

There were two Mulcahy shops on Blackpool bridge one was the sweet shop and one was a hardware shop. The Mulcahy hardware shop was the building that Tomas MacCurtain had a flat above and was murdered in by the Black and Tans /RIC. The Sweet shop was three doors up towards Cork. I wonder if the Patrick Mulcahy on the 1901 census owned the other store since they lived there?
Jer his wife Kate and their daughter were very quiet people and very softly spoken they were lovely people. Eily Mulcahy 2006
