Joan (My mother) was being reared by her grandmother Anna Daly, because her Mother Nora Riordan had left Ireland to go to America.
She told me she considered her grandmother's second husband ( Irwin) her own grandfather because she was raised by him and Anna Daly ( her grandmother). - Noreen Felton 16 Nov 2004
Nora Bridget Riordan Blackburn Mansfield Woroneski was baptized at St Colman's Cathedral in Cobh. her date of birth is Feb.9, 1900. she was baptized on Feb 18,1900. her parents were John Timothy Riordan and Hannah Daly. her sponsors were Timothy Daly and Margaret Flynn.. she received her first Communion in 1910 ( the documents stated that no records of First Communion were kept in the church ) She received Confirmation in June 29, 1913. her confirmation names were: Mary Veronica.
Nora Riordan (Blackburn), had some relatives, Riordan's in Massachusetts and Quinlan's in New York.
I am not sure where she originally landed, but I do know she spent most of her adult life in New York.
