Rensselaer - Patrick J. Flaherty passed away at home Monday April 28, 2014.
Born in Cork City, Ireland on April 3, 1925 to Catherine O'Neill and Joseph Flaherty, he came to America at 13 months of age and lived in what was known as "Hells Kitchen" in New York City.
This is where his brothers and sisters were born.
He attended Cardinal Hayes High School, deciding in his senior year to join the Navy during World War II and served 8 years as a cook.
He worked for Motor Vehicle in Albany and after retirement worked part time for SUNY Albany and the Rensselaer County Department of Motor Vehicle in Troy.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Wood Flaherty; three children, Karen, Kevin, and Patrick and a son-in-law, Ken Kimball.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
