- Had been working full time since the age of 14 years, Jerry came to MA to visit brother Michael. While in MA he married Margaret Glavin. After he married the lived in Salem MA. Marriage certificate shows his last name as Toomey.
Worked at the United Shoe Factory with his brothers Patrick and Michael in MA. The Company wanted him to work on Sundays, Jerry felt Sunday was the "Lord's day" and working was unacceptable.
