  Notes	Sydney Morning Herald Friday 19th & Monday 22nd May 1843 Notice - My wife Bridget Lewis, (whose maiden name was O'Hare), having left me without any cause or provocation; I hereby caution the public not to credit her, as I will not be answerable for any debts she may con- tract. RICHARD LEWIS Kingsgrove May 18. 6882 As of 23 Mar 2011 I still can't find the marriage of Richard Lewis and Bridget O'Hare. This notice appeared the Sydney Morning Herald and was run on the 19th and on 22nd of May 1843 on the front page, it is the closest I have found to a "legal" document to prove that they were married. I am presuming that Richard if he was blatant enough to publicly cut her off from financial independence, would not do so whilst incorrectly declaring that she was his wife? As this Notice was dated 18th May 1843 at Kingsgrove and Harriet Theresa Lewis was born just under nine months 3 Feb 1844 at Kingsgrove, one wonders what was going on? So for our purposes Richard(2), (who may be James) has (publicly) declared that they were man and wife, which has confirmed the link from Richard Lewis(1) and Mary Ann Roberts, via Richard(2) their son who married Bridget O'Hare and had Harriet Theresa Lewis who married Martin Murphy and had Edina Catherine Murphy who married Thomas Norman Rowe.
