My mother also remembers her Auntie Kit who was a religious Nun, but who contracted polio resulting in her being crippled for the remainder of her life. After contracting polio she left the convent in Limerick and spent the remainder of her life living in the family home only being able to move between her bed and a chair - Liam Kearns 21 Dec 2012 [1]
