Mary had ten births and all of Auntie Mary's children died, either before during or shortly after birth or did not live past two years. She had one boy who survived and that was her only living child. She also had one boy that she adopted, Vincent, she was very unlucky with children. Vincent died at about 7 years old with I think meningitis. Her only boy died very tragically going to a match he was only about 28-30, going around the corner he was one of the finest hurlers in Cork and he was Pat or Paddy Healy, He was not a drinking man and they were in a mini van or van and they were going around the corner the van side door opened and he fell out. There was not a mark on him but the fall just broke his neck. He was married, don't think they had any family but they had just adopted a little boy about a year old. Not sure of his wifes name.
Mary Falvey one of the sweetest women you could ever meet she was so nice and my Dad John, they took me in and Hughie. Talk about a mother of sorrows when I think about what my mother went through, you know sometimes when you're down I think of her and know that what she went through were real troubles and what I had. With the children that Mary lost a lot of them were still born but also a lot were born alive, but I don't remember any names, I was still so young.
Mary raised Tommy the whiter's daughter Mary (Mary Doll) until Mary left was about 18-19 and went back to England
Lived in School Avenue above the New School on Cathedral road. Gurranabraher
and may have raised her siblings with Joan.

Mary Falvey, Daughter, RC, R&W, Age - 8, Occupation - Scholar, Single, Born - Cork City.
Mary semi adopted Vincent, either through an ill relative in the family or he may have been related to John. He didn't live very long her became very poorly and he died very young. Pat was her only living son her only fresh and blood, Vincent wasn't she took him from either a family or from a home, she was looking after him. I remember him as being a lovely blond child very pale and the next thing he wasn't there any more. He died very young.
