And then went to work in Dosco brush making for 51 years."
Note there was a Patrick Joseph O'Mahony b 3 Mar 1905 and died 1906 who I had on the tree as he was born at 123 Georges street to a John O'Mahony. In fact he was born to a John O'Mahony a Barber who married a Mary Anne Donovan (yes) and had lots of children and lived next door to Stick when his family lived there on the 1911 census - Matt Falvey 1 Mar 2020
WE have a difference in the records, on the birth cert which I have a copy, John is born on 17 Aug 1869 in Killeens, on the baptism records the first underneath, (Ireland Births and Baptisms, 1620-1881), John is born on 17 Aug 1869 in Whitechurch. Okay that is not too bad the dates match and Whitechurch was the Baptismal place so they may have just assumed it was the birth place too. But on the other record, (Ireland, Catholic Parish Registers, 1655-1815), which I have a copy of the register page, John is baptised on 12 Aug 1869 while living in Rathpeacon. 5 days before he was born. The birth cert was registered 1 Oct 1869, nearly two months after the birth, so we could presume that the baptismal register was the more accurate, if we presume that that was filled out contemporaneously, but anecdotally this may not be the case with many Parish Priest's. I have left the record to reflect the baptism date, but the place of birth to reflect Killeens as Honora registered that and surely would have known where she was living. Matt Falvey 4 Sep 2016
