- Married a scotsman in England and he worked in Guinness' in Dublin
He has a very unusual Scottish name both are dead a long time - 23 Dec 2005 Breda Falvey
My Grandparents met after the second world war, Arthur was in the Royal Navy and his ship pulled into Cork and he met Maura, they married in 1948 in Broughty Ferry. Maura's mother Ellen travelled over for the wedding.
Then shortly after the wedding they moved back to Cork because I know Arthur got a job in Mallow Co Cork.
They eventually moved to Tallaght Co Dublin which was a very small village then compared to now. He got a job with Urney's sweets firm in Tallaght. Then Maura told Arthur about jobs in Guinness.
He applied and got the job by this time the also moved to Walkingstown Dublin 12. Arthur eventually worked in Guinness until his retirement in 1983. Guinness was always a good employer to work for, Arthurs son Ian Tilbury also works in the St James' Gate brewery. [2]
