Dear Mr Mulcahy,
On my
last visit to Blackpool I
was informed of the passing
of your dear wife. May I
offer you and yours my
sincerest sympathy.
It is difficult for outsiders
to fully understand the
feelings of the bereaved
ones on occasions like
this but we can and
will pray God to comfort
and sustain you in
your loss.
Yours Sincerely
Jack Lynch
It was Baby Hannah McCarthy who let Mom know that Jimmy was in a bad state after his wifes death . She spoke to him and he asked her to let Eily Mulcahy know if she would come over and look after him. Eily went back She then organised for him to come over to Birmingham with the family. He stayed for some time with us the Falvey's in Erdington, Birmingham but never really settled and was never able to understand the Brummies. He used to spend his time up at the bookies and sitting on a bench outside the library at Erdington "Village Green", Before finally going back home. He had lost the will to live and although a big strong man, he really gave up on life and just passed away - Eily Mulcahy 4 Oct 2006
Jerh O'Connor in Coburg St. 021 450 7711 did the burial. He died about a year before we left for Australia (1972) which was in 1971. He left some money for Julie Jones ¹50 from his estate and also some for his neighbour Sisy Shinkwin ¹25.
