She had a heart problem. Lizzie died at 631, 138th st the Bronx, right next to St Lukes church, thats were we lived at the time we were at 6 o'clock mass, she got a pain in her heart, I was with her, we lived , the house was right there next door to the church, still there in fact. so we left right away and went right up to the house and we called the doctor who was 2 doors away and he pronounced her dead as soon as he got to the house, she almost died right there in church. She was buried at St Raymonds Cemetery in the Bronx within about 3 or 4 days of her death. I was 12 years old and I was all shook up as she was like my mother to me not my grandmother she raised me and I knew I was going ot have to leave New York and go back to Schenectedy to live with my Mom, so I was all shook up when my grandmother died - Lillian Knox 31 Mar 2006
