Worked in Holloway prison, was a guard for Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be hung in an English prison 13 July 1955. She said the screams of Ruth Ellis going to the hangman made her white so she packed up. She then worked on the ships on liners and met Eugene Barber on a ship. Reposing at Fordes Funeral Home, South Gate Bridge. Rosary on this (Monday) evening at 8pm followed by removal to St. Finbarr's (South) Church. Funeral on tomorrow (Tuesday) after 2pm Requiem Mass to St. Oliver's Cemetery. - Cork Examiner
